Arizona Daily Star Letters to the editoR
July 6: Leighton Rockafellow for Ward 6
Tucson stands at a crossroads.
With rising homelessness, increasing violent crime, and a net loss of jobs, it's clear we need to course-correct. That starts with City Council leadership willing to make tough but necessary decisions grounded in real-world experience — and who understands that our future prosperity depends on growing the economy.
That's why I support Leighton Rockafellow for Ward 6. As an attorney, Leighton knows how to navigate complex issues, seek compromise, and find practical solutions everyone can live with —exactly the approach Tucson needs.
Safety is a key pillar of his platform. He advocates for competitive wages to retain experienced police and firefighters,
expanding community policing, increasing traffic enforcement, and creating a city drug court focused on treatment over incarceration. These pragmatic steps will make our neighborhoods safer and stronger.
For a pragmatic, experienced voice dedicated to Tucson's future, vote Leighton Rockafellow for Ward 6. If you want real solutions — not politics — he's the leader we need.
